      Your bottle was made for the American market circa the early 1930s to mid 1960s.
      I'm not even sure any Federal Law Prohibits bottle would get 999.00. Without a strongly embossed image, large amount of text, paper label, or product, you'd be lucky to get 9.99 for it.
      Sellers ask what they want. What they get is usually a lot less. My guess is, that seller meant nine dollars and ninety nine cents.
