Hello, a gentleman left town on business and his wife and daughter decided to have a yard sale. His pin collection was up for grabs. Pins, cuff links, challenge coins. A rare collection including this item. I have not been able to find out anything about it. The hummer is almost 3 inches long and one and a half inches tall. Orient Express and 7th Transportation Battalion are printed on one side. On the other, On time, On target. Both sides have badges, insignias on them. Any help identifying the origin of this item would be appreciated.

A quick search online shows the BN was inactivated in 2011 at FT Bragg.

I would think that the coin dates from about the last ten years of its existence. From my experience in the Army, most units had traditional COIN shaped challenge coins through the turn of the century.

Unique and oddly shaped coins became in vogue in the 2000.

      The badges:

      Silver wings: Master Parachutist Badge
Silver oak leaf: Lieutenant Colonel rank (Commander of a BN)
"Orient Express": Unit crest or DUI
Silver chevrons: Command Sergeant Major rank (Senior Enlisted man in BN)

Scottvez, thank you for the great information on the badges. I am still hoping that someone has seen one like it or knows of a place where I could find out where it came from originally. I would also like to thank you for the quick response.

Most of these "coins" were made in Korea. Most US based units that I was in ordered them from Korea because they were inexpensive.

Typically the "coins" are presented or handed out by the BN CDR and CSM (ranks shown on the back).
