I found this old photo album at an estate sale. I think it is Chinese but it could also be Japanese. The photos are individually pasted into the album and seem like they could be older than the album itself. Does anyone know what the label says or any information about the age, etc?
I'm just studying Chinese language (so not an expert), but I'm pretty sure the cover says Huang Shi Jiu Ying
Huangshi= Imperial family
Jiu= old
Ying= photograph
The first picture looks like Consort Zhen (1876-1900), she was also known as the Pearl Concubine of Emperor Guangxu.
And the last photo of an older woman looks like Empress Dowager Cixi (1835-1908).
There are some of these (same and similar) photos online. If you search for their names and look at images you will find lots.
In your photos I also see part of a photo of emperor Puyi, and empress Wanrong as an adult.
I also think you have one of WenXiu also called consort Shu.
In post number 3 I meant to say: I see part of a photo of emperor Puyi as a child...
