Hi,
This is some of my Collection of antique weapons found at the rubbish dump over the years of working there.
There is a few African Spears, the heavy solid metal ones I think are Lion killers.
There is a collection of French bayonets that are all the same model and two swords, I don't know anything about these but the one with I think is a brass handed looks pretty interesting.
I hope there show well in the photos.
Let me know if you know anything about these.
Thanks for looking.
I think the French bayonets are the best of this lot. Probably all from the late 19th century. I like the African pieces too even though they tend to be made for tourists. The two swords are probably decorator pieces.
Thanks fortapache for your information.
I think you are right on the bayonets, the African spears maybe repro as with one of the swords but the one with the brass handed is real sharp and just has something about it that feels right.
Actually the shorter brass handled sword appears to be a British Army Musician's sword, Circa 1850. The cypher is that of Queen Victoria.
Sorry I haven't been posting here lately, but will soon be back in the game
Chris
Thanks Chris,
That is great news, I've just looked up British Army Musician's sword and I think your right. I though that sword was genuine.
Thanks again.
