I love this so much I couldn't wait to get home to show you all.
It is about 18" according to how it fits my neck. The clasp is marked 14k, but even stamps can be faked. And it's strung on what looks like the same string used to string pearls.
I'm eager to hear all opinions as to it being natural Turquoise or something else?
Thanks for taking the time to look!
All comments welcome and appreciated! Even if it's not natural turquoise I'm only out 7.00usd and the lesson in turquoise is worth more than that

And I also found a silver cat brooch I can't wait to show you. It's really cute and old....I think:~)))

Nope, not Turquoise - dyed stones. I have a similar necklace posted here:

I see the 14K - what's the other mark? Take it and have it tested for gold content.

      I appreciate the knowledge!
I happen to have an acid gold test kit, just kinda living between two homes at the moment and didn't even think to grab that. I did grab the scales and it weighs 49.1 grams. And yes Efesgirl, I too can see there is another mark there but I can't make it out...yet anyway. I'll keep you posted, and thanks again!

All the love is certainly appreciated everyone!

The weight of the necklace is not of any significance as the stones are not valuable. Only the gold bits have value.

      Hi Efesgirl (Bonnie?)
I did test the gold piece that is marked 14k and it stayed, but it burned on 18.
Think I'll test the beads even though they don't look gold.
Keep ya posted if they test any good.

Update: Not only are the clasp 14k, so are all the little gold bead spacers.
I'm simply shocked. I suspect I'd be hard pressed to have a full gram of gold if I took it apart for the gold. But I feel good about my seven dollar investment.
