Inspired by welzebub's recent post on a Welz decor featuring pink spots, this is my example, a lidded trinket box or powder bowl.
It measures 13 cm tall, & 9 cm wide across the top & base.
Made from cased glass, it is white inside, with the pink spotted layer covered by clear. It has clear applied feet & a clear ball shaped finial.
A flea market find.
Now this I love..... Generally these would be found described as Early Murano glass.... Thanks for posting this.
Terrific piece! Cool to now know it is a Welz!
Thanks so much welzebub, so glad you're enjoying it. Your comment about "early Murano glass" made me laugh, I have bought so many pieces of Victorian glass - both English & Bohemian - that had that particular designation. :-)
Thanks also Michelle, it's definitely nice to know who made it. When I bought this I was going back & forth between a bunch of Victorian glass the seller had on his stall, but I kept picking this one up. The mere fact that it's pink was a major factor, plus it's a bit quirky, it's not too big, & I could use it (it's chock full of jewellery odds & ends) made it a must buy!
