#29 ~ Early 1970's Patched Hippie / Motorcycle Denim Vest belonging to a man who called himself Shaft from Liberty TX
This is an amazing "document" of the times. I felt that in 2017 I should obscure one patch as many will find it offensive. However this period piece is amazing just in the fact that is there. Think about it, the obscured patch is on the same jacket vest as three black activist patches! "Black is Beautiful", "Right On" - with the iconic clenched fist graphic, and "Soul". I will surmise that also with the nickname "Shaft" embroidered on the vest - this was owned by an African American who's largest patch on the back is a flag most people today would deem racist. That is another reason why I am trying to document this era - it was a way different world than it was then.
Cool and I know someone in Liberty Tx too :-)
