Woolly mammoths are extinct relatives of today’s elephants. They lived during the last ice age, and they may have died off when the weather became warmer and their food supply changed. Humans may also be partly responsible for their disappearance due to hunting. Although the word “mammoth” has come to mean “huge,” woolly mammoths were probably about the size of African elephants
Their tusks that have been found are only legal ivory to be sold today
More of my collection this appears to be 2 Rams or Camels under a tree . This piece of ivory has such beautiful coloring . 9 In tall and the back is even gorgeous Ivory

Only on cw can you find many wooly mammoths, you should know that, as it did not take me long, LOL, however on a serious note, this is one of your finest sculptures, I really love it !

OMG, these pieces are amazing, I can't wait to go see the others you posted. And how interesting is that, really, the ivory from them is legal trade? I have to ask, have you ever been on an elephant? I have and OMG, I was sooooo scared!!!! I will never do that again, they are huge! And I was probably on a baby one at that! lol!
