Good day everyone,
It was always a treat for me as a kid to see a Lionel train display in the show window of the local toy store close to Christmas. I always made sure my trail led to the show window on my way home from delivering news papers, or from a hockey game.
Some of my father's friends had lionel trains and their basement was one big Lionel dream wonderland. When they would turn the controls over to me I was in Lionel Heaven.
Little did I know at the time that in order to operate the trains smoothly and trouble free that the engines needed to be cleaned, and lubricated on a regular basis.
This is where the instructions manual pictured above was made available by Lionel to aid the model train owners in assembling different track layouts and keeping their trains well maintained for hours of trouble free enjoyment.
Standing there when the whistle sounded and the operator called out All Aboard will always be something I will remember today, yesterday, and for years to come.
Kerry says "Neat" :-)
