vaselineal…
(88 items)
This lovely peach oil spot vase has been identified as Bohemian. Originally I was told that it was likely Kralik but there is also information pointing to this shape being a Rindskopf product. I believe that the enameling would have been done at an outside refiner.
The vase measures 7" tall and 4 1/2" wide.
Very pretty! I have never seen one of these with enamel before. I was the one on that thread who mentioned the possible Rindskopf connection to this shape. The peach coloration does look very Kralik in style; these vases are a bit of a mystery, aren't they? :) Thanks for sharing it!
...I want to add for clarity that this shape was documented in Rindskopf's Diluvium decor c.1901, and the peach, pink, blue, and green examples may be Rindskopf, but could also have been made by another maker such as Kralik. https://www.pinterest.com/warrengalle/heresy-all-your-kralik-are-belong-to-us-jos-rindsk/ (I personally own a yellow-green example.)
Thanks for the info Michelle. It seems to be like the Rindskopf shape is very similar. The glass seems to be quite a bit thicker. Does that matter when trying to attribute shapes or can that vary depending on the gather of glass?
I think that Deluvium production was thicker in general. Most examples I have seen are fairly thick walled compared to other glass.
