(Disclaimer: I'm fresh on the collector/reseller/yard sale junkie circuit. Please consider at least some of what follows to be pure speculation.)
This appears to be a fairly representative dragonware coffee set, but I've nothing more than that for further identification. As a newbie, I'm not sure what to look for to narrow it down; any questions or photo requests you have, I'll do my best to fulfill promptly.
The closest thing I have to a marker's mark is shown in image 4; a raised nautical star on the bottoms of the larger pieces.
EDIT: I missed examining the smaller, rounded piece in the foreground of image 2. I can't upload a fifth picture, so here's an imgur link: http://mrstackhouse.imgur.com/dragonware_coffee_set#UQt4E
Perhaps a partial 40s-50s "Made In Japan" mark?
I'll add to this posting as more information becomes available.
Update: hat tip to reddit user BabysInBlack for id'ing this as a coffee set, not tea. Early assumptions can really cripple research.
Late 50's early 60's. Nice set. This colour was not made in the early 50's. The newer the dragonware the less the quality and design. This is very well done. As to the price. Everything is down 60%. Check other listings. My guess $89-129 but in this market it would be half to move it. $39-49. Older sets form the 30's and 40's are selling for less than $30 on Ebay
