From grandmother's house in northern Maryland. Referred to as a candle chair.
Is this hole in the arm for a candle or peg lamp? What is the correct name of such a chair?
The chair measures 37 1/2" high x 30" deep x 25" wide. The seat cushion measures 19 1/2" deep x 20" wide. The seat back cushion measures 4" high x 18 1/2" wide. Don't know the upholstered material. Legs rest on small metal casters.
Any information is welcomed.
I have seen some with reading table attached, try google images "victorian reading chair" one has a metal contraption with bar between the arms with a table in middle fit for a small book.
