Lite artistic plate

This is a type of artwork that's super lite. Its black and has amazing picture on it.I don't know much about this except that my mother in-law was given it 50 years ago by her mother,who had owned it for unknown amount of time,Hoping someone can tell me type of art it would be listed under.Any information would be helpful. There is an area on back from sitting on frame that has a little damage,It might help someone be able to recognize material it is made from.Any information would be wonderful, Thanks
