    The iron belong to our great grandmother which would date it into the late 1800's or early 1900's.

      I passed up on 3 or 4 of these beauties at an estate sale. I should have bought them, but my significant other didn't share my enthusiasm for them.

      Thank you for your comments . This iron has many stories behind it. My
      mother-in law told how her mother & grandmother filled the inside with hot coals
      & stood in the kitchen ironing their long dresses & under garments. She said they would sing the entire time. A very special item & beautiful stories pass on .
