This is an unusual teal blue color i hadn't seen before. i won this in an ebay auction. my favorite awaji pieces have the basketry at least partially intact. it seems more practical and mellow with it. this is a nice one. it's a little over 6 inches high.

I am a fan of Awaji pottery I have 6 or seven pieces. None with the basket weave correct that had one but the wrap was so far gone that I removed it just had some around the neck and bottom parts were all broken no way to repair..

thanks grendel. i prefer to leave the weaving - even in bad condition, but i can understand why you removed it too.
