Looking for help! Complete novice. I am hoping for some basic information on this Kelvinator chest cooler. I would also like to get my handsd on a manual. Can anyone tell me how much water is required to be put in. Be nice, just learning. Jay

FYI..................the lid is backwards. The side of the lid that says HAVE A COKE should be on the good side, the grated side where you access the compressor is the back.

Awesome Thank you. I removed the lid to move it and popped it on backwards for the pic. oops. Great tip on the water level, if I could learn to read I would be off to the races. Finding it very hard to find any info on this model. The model # on the plate is worn off but it looks like fes60. Do you happen to know if this correct. Thanks so much for your help.

Before you spend a great deal of time on something and trying to get answers like I did I'll tell you what I know. According to what I have learned on the internet and from taking my cooler to a refrigeration repair shop.....................if the cooling system doesn't work it can't be fixed due to the outdated products that would have to be used to repair it. Your machine is believed to be between 1947 - 1952 and runs on Freon. Mine looks brand new after everything I replaced but doesn't work and there's nothing you can do so be cautious. Right now it's set for superbowl and full of ice and water but it's strictly an event cooler meaning emptied after use and an ornament most that looks great in a Mancave.

Thanks again. At this point it appears that the fan is seized. Hopefully i can replace that easily. If not I will take your advice and just make it look pretty. Enjoy the game.

      Hi folks,
I own a few of these coolers and yes its a pain trying to get info on them. Iwas told that you can replace the freon by r134a. it will work for sure. As for parts, i do have a little bit of them. Let me know what you are lookin for. Iwould like to see a complete restored one in running condition with the Kelvinator unit still in it!!

By the way my model is a fes-60 as well. All my coolers are Kelvinator units.
