I have a similar one posted with cobalt color and birds!
Mrstyndall, I love the blue! Have you cleaned yours? Mine is tarnished, but I don't know what to use that won't affect the paint.
Aliceandclara, no I haven't cleaned mine and would be afraid it might mess it up.
Be careful cleaning it. Gentle polishing with soft cloth won't hurt it and if the designs are underglaze, they'll stand up to cleaning but if the painting is on the surface, it can rub off.
The designs are on the surface. I have a similarly painted pendant that has the same look and the designs are slightly rubbed off from storage. I'm not sure what the metal is. Do you know? It would be wonderful to restore it to the gleaming silver color it was when I received it.
The metal is probably a nickel alloy, sometimes it's 800 or 900 silver but not often - check it over well for a small hallmark just in case.
