I believe this ring was made in Europe. It is only marked "333" and means 8K, if I am not mistaken. It has a small amethyst ball and is
    otherwise very simple.

    Thanks for looking:)

Agree it is lovely and interesting gold alloy!

I remember around 1970 there were stone ball rings with interchangeable stones, you pinched the mount to open the "grasp" and put another color stone ball :-)
I don't know if yours is this kind...

Kyratango, I think you are right. The amethyst ball turns easily around. I don't want to try to get it out but my guess is that I could if I wanted to:)

Thanks Freiheit for the follow up!
I wouldn't try to remove the amethyst ball either :-)
I agree, just knowing I could if I want is enough!

Actually, kyratango, I couldn't resist! I had to see if the ball comes out. And guess what: It does! It's very easy. One can just push the shanks together and the ball is released. Now I need to find some other balls.....

Great news!!! Now you have a versatile ring!
You may easily find drilled ones if you get the right diameter :-D
