I found this over the weekend. Though it runs great and keeps accurate time, at some point in the past, humidity messed up the paint on the dial. I opened it up and cleaned it the best that I could to remove the paint that had bubbled around the edges of the dial so it would not flake and get into the mechanism. I plan to take this one to my watchmaker friend to discuss a possible restoration. The actual gold filled case is in rather nice condition. I love the square face and claw like lugs of this fine 17 jewel Bulova from near the end of the Art Deco era. It is possible to date it accurately from the L2 marking inside the back dating to 1952 and the L1 on the movement dating to 1951.
Thanks Freon!
Very Nice..... looking forward to updated dial restore photos.
Thank you Kerry, I will probably go get an estimate this weekend :-)
