Found this candy dish in a vintage glass store. It is an exact duplicate to one my Mother bought for her Grandmother in the late 30's. According to what I can find, they were made between 1936 and 1940. However, I cannot find the pink stripped one like I have. The ones I see in most of the vintage stores and online are either clear or milk glass. Anyone have any ideas on this. Are the pink stripped ones rare, or are people just holding on to them?

Anchor Hocking made their 'Old Café' line c1936-40 as you have noted; the pattern was made in crystal, pink, white, royal ruby and forest green. I vase found other Anchor Hocking lines with a similar cranberry stain, but not sure if AH did the stain or if it may have been a 3rd party decorating house.

When Mom bought the one for her Grandma, she said the clear ones were a quarter and the pink stripped ones were 75 cents. So I am guessing that they were for sale at the same time, and I have read that some companies sent their stuff to someone else for decorations, ect.

I have found several over the years and bought them because I liked them... it's only recently I have started 'researching' my collected things :-) So, I have 2 clear, 1 'frosted' (haven't seen that one online yet) and one with a reverse-painted on the inside of the lid, 2 large flower stems (paint is in bad shape) and I have seen 1 other of those, with a different pattern though, online.
