Hello everybody it's great to be back on CW. Today I'm going to be putting on 3 pieces from Jakob Bengel. This one I spotted in a job lot, I'm 99.9 percent sure that it is Jakob Bengel. On one of the photo's you can see the original enameling which was red. The enameling was in a pretty dismal state so I bought some cold enamel paint which Jakob Bengel used. As you can see I painted the panels black, he used black a lot in his work. This type of his work is called brickwork, it was made during the 1930s. I gave it 1 coat of enamel paint only, I didn't want to over do it and tried to keep it in its original state.
Would love to know your opinions
Many thanks for looking.
You did a very professional job!! I think it looks better than the original. :-))))
Thank you very much Bonnie, to be honest I'm not a great fan of the colour red he uses, it washes me out. Black is a far better colour for me.
Looks great Jean!! Well done!! :-)
You did a fantastic job with the black enamel!!!
I'm sure too it is Bengel :-)
Beautiful well loved piece!
Thank you Judy.
I'm glad you confirmed it is a Jakob Bengel necklace kyra. I'm sure I'll be wearing it in the future, I do hope some more of his pieces come my way. As always thanks for your comment and help kyra.
What a clever and attractive make over Jean. Great work on lifting what was already a wonderful piece!
Thank you Karen, I think it's come up rather well. Now whenever I'm online and looking for jewellery, I always look at job lots there could be that one thing that's special. In this particular case I kept this one and sold on the rest. :-)
Many thanks
