Wooden crank phone. Belonged to my grandfather. I am missing a bell but ordered a new bell assembly off ebay. Should I refinish the wood?

Can anyone give me advice on restoring the wood in this old family treasure?
Should I refinish the wood? Will that devalue the phone?
No you shouldn't and it will either lower or add no value so no reason to do that.
It's always a subject among collectors of old cars and or telephones. As the phone stands right now, you need a receiver cap, mouthpiece and a brass bell painted black. value about 100.00, if you restored the phone the value jumps up to 199.00 to 225.00. Would you hang the phone on your wall as it is now?
I would more proud as a restored heirloom.
It could use some restoration-- it will enhance the appearance and value.
