Hello again CW! I was forced to take a long break from posting due to technical issues. Fortunately the problem has been solved. Although I stopped posting I didn’t stop collecting, and I would like to keep sharing with you.
First is this big and beautiful Scottish A&C brooch. I guess it must be from 1900-1920. It has a huge spherical carnelian at the centre, surrounded by moonstone and carnelian cabochons and hand-made silver leaves. The pin has a C clasp. Sadly there are no maker’s marks, but the workmanship is great. I hope you like it as much as I do.
A lovely Victorian piece! The hinge is broad, which was common in Victorian brooches. In Edwardian brooches, the hinges are narrow.
How great is your brooch... an to see you're back!
The construction is rather unusual, with the carnelian bead seeming to float in the middle, I love the moonstones amidst the leaves too :-)
Can't wait to see your "new" treasures!
Lovely brooch BellaEpoque, looking forward to seeing your future posts. I'm glad to see you back.
Just gorgeous.....I love this brooch!!
Thanks for the warm welcome back! :)
@Efesgirl, you are right, the brooch could well be Victorian!!
@kyra, jean & Tassie, thanks for your nice comments!
Woo Hoo! More circa 1900 jewels. I've also been collecting but not posting as much.
Lovely brooch, what makes you think its Scottish?
Thanks for the feedback, everyone!!
@Jewels, I bought it from a Scottish seller and the stones just reminded me of typical A&C traditional Scottish jewellery.
