I'm coming across sugar bowl lids with steam holes, Noritake Adagio, Thomas Queen Louise and a Namuri floral pattern. Was this a common practice to interchange lids for sugar bowls and tea or coffee pots? Any insight would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I think they just got mixed up in the china cabinet or used as a replacement. Sugar bowl lids don’t usually have that deep sides or a stem vent!
