The Dalton culture was a Paleo-Indian culture that flourished in North America between 10,500 BP - 9,500 BP. This example is made of red jasper and measures about 3.5" in length and 1.5" in width. The blade is lenticular with excurvate edges. The basal edge is moderately concave. Basal and lateral smoothing along the hafting area is typical. This example shows modest resharpening and very slight damage to one ear. For this reason it would be graded G8 - G7. It was found in Fulton Co., IL, USA.
