Rare Silesian wirework and hand painted porcelain portrait pendant . It's quite a coincidence that this same image of Beatrice Cenci as the cover of the new book by Jeanette Hanisee Gabriel about Micro Mosaic this month will be published. See: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/217695-book-indispensable-for-every-serious-mic?in=user
It's a very old jewel of late 18th early 19th century, believed made in Silesia (now Poland). So far, I've found two such jewelry. On internet http://artofmourning.com/2014/05/08/berlin-ironwork-jewellery/
and the other in my possession these two are made with enamel . You can see mine, along with my newest gain on the last picture.
The pendant is very light in weight only 2.5 gr. and 3.8 x 2 cm.
As you can see the porcelain has a small scratch and I'd like to update. Therefore, I hereby require the opinion of Kyra(lisation) (Pascale). I hope she will give me .. Either ways and means to scratch I can update.
Altogether a rare asset that I can add to my small collection Iron Berlin Silesian wirework jewelry.
If you are interested in this kind of jewelry read my comment on CW:

I have you to thank for introducing iron work to me Agram, with your previous posts.
This looks a very special piece. The painting is a wonder, the wire work beautiful. Congratulations!

      So!!!.. beautiful...:-)

      Wow! What a beautiful find!

The portrait on your pendant is after the portrait of Beatrice Cenci, by Elisabetta Sirani, attributed too to Guido Reni, (Beatrice seems sad on the original painting!).

This portrait was widely reproduced in 19th jewellery, on porcelain or enamel plaques :-)

About the scratch, if you only intend to display the pendant, I'd use watercolour to mask it, but leave the "repair" uncovered, in order to keep the general original finish ...

The German porcelain firm KPM produced fine repros of striking portraits of old masters:

(You can see on this page repro of my little Neapolitan fisher boy!)

Lovely wirework pendant. These are rare because the material is so fine, yet made of iron, so it rusts. Getting one is such good condition is a true find. I have never seen one with a portrait before -- typical pieces are just wirework though the makers were quite expressive using lots of different buttons, paillettes, etc.

For a write up on Beatrice Cenci, I have a micromosaic of her in my albums at this link:

      http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/150620-antonio-aguatti-micromosaic-of-beatrice

Sorry in advance if I shouldn't place links in my posts....

Woahhh... I forgot your post Bluboi!
And that you had all the Beatrice Cenci portrait history and original painting attribution... thanks for the link which refreshed memories :-D
