Pine Ridge Pottery Pitcher, signed E. Irving (Ella Irving). Measures 9 3/4" tall, with matte finish. P.R.P. was started in the 1930's as a W.P.A. project. When they brought a Potter to teach the Native Americans at the reservation school to throw and decorate pottery. The Sioux Indians before this had never made pottery, being a nomadic tribe. Pine Ridge Pottery was in production from the 1930's to 1982.
Very nice piece, never really knew much about it, thanks for info, and had seen one on this site more recently.
