Pine Ridge Pottery Pitcher, signed E. Irving (Ella Irving). Measures 9 3/4" tall, with matte finish. P.R.P. was started in the 1930's as a W.P.A. project. When they brought a Potter to teach the Native Americans at the reservation school to throw and decorate pottery. The Sioux Indians before this had never made pottery, being a nomadic tribe. Pine Ridge Pottery was in production from the 1930's to 1982.
