Someone took very good care of this jug. There is only a small amount of wear on the bottom. The star pattern continues right up the sides. I'm assuming it's mid-century. Since it's already about 5 pounds empty, lol, I can imagine how heavy it is when there's liquid inside.
:-)))))
Maybe TallCakes knows something....
UPDATE: I did find this info on the net:
http://heiseymuseum.org/?page_id=44
"Are all pieces of Heisey marked/signed?
A. Yes and no! When the finished product left the factory, all pieces were marked. Some pieces had the famous “Diamond H” molded into the glass, while others had only a paper label identifying them as Heisey. Blown pieces only had the paper label. Molded pieces were all to be marked with the Diamond H in the glass, but wear on the molds sometimes prevented a clear mark. The mark could also be polished off when the glass went back into the glory hole for the final fire polishing. In addition, the Diamond H is not always on the bottom or in the middle of the item. Heisey was very good at putting the mark in unnoticeable places. Stemware is a prime example. But just because you can’t find the mark, don’t let a good piece of Heisey slip through your hands. A little studying will go a long way to help you identify that unmarked piece of Heisey."
Thanks for coming to see my jug.
Bonnie
does this one have the Heisey mark? Looks like Heisey made their #1435 'Victorian' pattern from 1932-52. That's one heavy jug and very pretty too!
@TallCakes - there is no mark anywhere. :-((
I checked it carefully.
Sent off photos to the National Heisey Glass Museum.

Bonnie,
I thought most pieces were unmarked. I have a bowl in the "lariat" pattern. I never knew they put their mark in inconspicuous places. I guess I should double check for a mark. Perhaps I should post a pic.
@TT > I would like to see it.
Thanks, Ken! It really is quite something.
I didn't examine the images closely before; just accepted that it has the appearance of the Heisey block design. Looking closer, these are quite large blocks, whereas Heisey Victorian looks to have much smaller waffle blocks. This one look more like cut lead crystal to me, which explains the heftiness.
@TC - I think it's just extremely thick pressed glass. It looks different when put next to my covered butter dish, which is lead crystal (posted here).
does look very thick. any reaction to black light?
Very pretty pitcher. I think I have a tall one with that design and something like a fishbowl (for lack of knowing what else to call it) I'll have to get it out...the designs are very similar and if I remember correctly, mine has a name on it. I'll check and see.
Got an answer from Heisey - not theirs, but the fellow who emailed me back said it is a beautiful jug. :-)))))
Wow! This is sooo beautiful wow!!.
5lb wow! Very cool :)
