I am not a Nippon collector but recently purchased this simply because I liked it. I have not been able to find any info on the marking. Also I am interested in the name of the pattern. I think it is moriage piece. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am puzzled because I can not find this marking anywhere.

I think it's what's called the EE backstamp. Generally, it was used on pieces meant for daily or "not formal" use. I've seen pics of tins filled with shaped dishes of EE. While it's not considered to be the same quality as the "M" pieces I have pieces that are like yours, gold on white, and display them proudly.
