I got this awhile back. Just thought it was cool and unusual. Its a folding fireplace screen. I've heard it called peacock style. This is a remake of what they made early on. This one dates between the 60s and 70s.

OK fixed a couple pictures. Yes bought mine because i liked the base. I think yours is more unique tho.. mine also needs to be soddered in 2 places on the fold down connectors.

I like how you have it displayed in second pic. Yeah, I try to be careful when I pull mine out, so as not to damage it. They are neat though and are a great decorative piece! How's your house coming along?

Thank you! The house is a work in progress. But getting lots done on it. Almost finished with the 3rd floor. I'll be so happy. That's my area. . I claimed the whole floor! There are 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a full walk in attic. With stairs that go to the back door.

What is the thing beside the fireplace that the picture is sitting on?

I have 5 fireplaces. This one is actually hooked into the heat. So when it comes on it heats up too.. i have 2 like this and 3 they made gas. And yes good way to hide from my kids! On my own floor lol.. they are older now. .so don't come looking for me often..

That's a fancy metal cover over the old radiator. The whole downstairs has covers over them. Guess they didn't want someone to burn themselves. But upstairs the radiators are carved flowers and fancy designs. And no covers. .

I love this. My husband and I are working on a dollhouse, and while shopping for the interior, I've seen fireplace screens in 1:12 size just like this one!

I really love the doll house collecting. I have always thought it would be so cool. .man some of that stuff is pricey tho. Im always on ebay looking for oil lamps. And came across this cute hanging one hard to see the picture. So i clicked on it and it was for a doll house. Went for $121 just wow! But that's great would love to see your doll house done!

Lamplover78, I will post some photos after I finish this comment. My husband and I bought the kit around 15 years ago when we lived down south and it's been in our attic here in New York for 10 years. We decided to finish it, but it's a very work intensive kit and definitely not for a beginner. Thank goodness my husband has carpentry skills!

Yes, some of the miniatures are even more than a full-sized piece. I've seen miniature furniture for thousands! I'm decorating one room at a time, and I'm working in the library now. I'll post some of the things along with the house. The fun of it is finding pieces that I love that aren't a fortune.

**I am filling my dollhouse with everything I love that won't do for the life-sized house. ;)

Ahhh, so it's you that posted this recently! I was wondering who is was, I couldn't remember...So, I just got one of these as well! Now, I haven't read all the comments here nor have I looked at all your photos, I guess I just got excited that the first thing I saw here today was your post. After I got home, I began to wonder if mine is a reproduction. I'm thinking it may be...I sure hope not, but...I will soon find out! I'm going to post it now.
