5' 6" tall 27" wide at least 50- 60 years old wondering what year might be so match oringenal paint color and may need 2 hinges for bottom for doors. Hope I cn fix them. It's my wife's Grandmas china cabinet break. Any help would be appreciated. They lived in Greenwood S.C. all life.
Lets be honest, this is possibly 30 years old with modern hardware available at Lowe's or Home Depot.
I'm sorry but you are mistaken. My wife rembers it as a child and she is 40 her mom and aunt say they had it before they were married. But people can have bad memories. Send me a pic of year and color is I want so I can bring it back to oringenal look. That way when my 40 year old grand kids have it they will know the age of it. If it's only 30 years old doesn't matter to me. Not trying sell just want to restore it. Thank you and appreciate any more leads.
Inthedark, easy enough to tell if this is old and original. The originals were painted with milk paint. Modern paint strippers/removers will not remove milk paint. When you think you are down to the original paint try removing it with paint stripper. Milk paint won't even crackle when modern stripper is applied to it. When and if you get to that coat of paint you will have the original color.
Well it must milk paint because striped wouldn't take of and it was yellowish pastel almost and plan sander wasn't doing good either. Had bout 4 layers. I don't what milk paint is. I'm ignorant to this stuff. My hands good but I don't look it up in till needed. And thank you. Any more io be appreciated f
It has round ball latch to hold door push in to the 2 pieces. I'any that old. I found 1 1930,'S but no break but same dimensions glass doors were longer
