I recently got this item. It seems to be a carnival prize although it is made of plaster instead of chalkware. I don't really know how old it is or if it is valuable. It's 12 inches high and in good condition. Features are air brushed and it seems a little rare, because of the wings. It has what looks like it would have been a piggy bank opening in the back of its head, but it isn't hollow and doesn't have an opening on bottom either.

Seems like maybe someone had a bank but it was broke or something and maybe had a cast of the original made or perhaps this is an original restored? I have not been collecting chalkware all that long but I have yet to see any that have been restored. I've seen many new ones but if you have held an old piece you can tell the new ones the moment you touch it. This piece is adorable and new or old any carnival prize/chalkware collector would love. Or at least I would:)

Thanks, vintagemad! I know that it is at least from the 70s, but maybe older. I don't think it has been repaired because the plaster is in very good condition- only "seam" is straight down the back (from casting I would guess). I'll post a close up picture of the back of the head soon. Maybe it was one of those mistakes where it should have been a bank but plaster got inside somehow. What do you think its worth?

It's a Diddums doll designed by Mabel Lucie Attwell
