Purchased this today. No clue on the age, appears to be handmade and early. Has hand painted accents and a grape motif on the upper back and front curve of seat, can't tell if it was veneered on, painted or stained. Looking for any information / opinion.

Description
With gold painted stringing and ring turned decoration, the arched cresting rail with worn stencil vine motifs above a spindle turned back and with conforming supports to the scroll arms flanking a solid rounded seat, the turned splayed legs joined by peripheral stretchers.

The rocker is a nice example with its attractive patina adding character and credence to the long history it has silently witnessed. It is difficult to identify the wood but is likely that there are mixed woods in the construction.
