Probably training and Ceremonial-- they make similar noise, but no projectile goes out the tube.
Army Posts use these during the Reveille (Raising of Flag at the beginning of the duty day) and Retreat Ceremony (lowering of the Flag at the end of the duty day). A cannon is fired, letting all know that they need to stop and salute.

THANKS SCOTT,SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT.
Hello: Concerning the 75 mm shell casing, is it brass or steel? Scott is correct, I have seen a 75 mm cannon fired every morning of the annual National Shooting Championship held at Camp Perry, Ohio. It is very impressive. There are several YouTube videos which illustrates what I am talking about. If you are interested in selling the casing and container, I may be interested in buying it from you. Johng
CAD1949..........remember, this is still an EXPLOSIVE I would be very careful.
It appears to be fired. Photo #2 shows a dent in the primer.
CAD is the shell casing empty?

Scott is right, I did not notice that before. Good catch Scott.
