I just bought this desk at an auction in the UK. I found a plug in one of the original handle holes in the drawer wedged in. I popped it out to get ready to clean up and restore the desk and saw it was stamped with "Heywood & Dixon Patent" on the end.
I have looked on-line and found only one piece made by them from the William IV period. I'm not sure mine is the same, but would like some assistance before I start on this desk. All of the drawer joints are handcut dovetail and very few nails have been used anywhere on this desk. Glue for supports primarily. The nails I have found are square cut style. It's mahogany also if that helps.
Thank you for any help you can offer,
Jeff
