Metal Tin Gold Leaf Jewelry Box Flower Vase Design:

I have had this Item for around 3 years, and I have tried google and dozens of different types of searches under Boxes, Tin Boxes, Gold Boxes, Jewelry Boxes, and Lock Boxes, and I have come up empty handed.

I cannot even find anything like it on Ebay or Etsy.
It looks to be to fancey adn decorative for a Lock box, and to boring and cheap for a jewelry box, and too sturdy if it was a chocolate or candy box (it has a lock mechanism inside).

It is made of mostly tin and and is footed in all 4 corners on the bottom via raised impressions. It is very stylish, and has a great deal of Curves and customization and NOT your regular box.
The BOX has a lot of GOLD paint which actually looks like gold leaf.
and the top of the box has a terrific decorative lithograph with a small lady, and a vase of flowers and a dish.
I am lost with this item, it is beautiful, it is old, and is most likely british, BUT it has no markings so I really have no clue.
What year is this from? the 1920's? 1960's?
Its it original or repro?
Was it Confectionary box or a real jewelry or lockbox?
Who made it and from what Country?

Please help, if you have suggestions, web sites links, I am desperate to solve this mystery
