Lovely pick up and a great addition to my 'mancave' Australian machete collection.
Got it from an older fellow who was given it by his next-door neighbour. The neighbour was a career army officer and served in Borneo conflict in the early to mid 1960s.
Has the broad arrow and MA65 stamped into the handle (1965 manufacture date) and MA is the proof mark for the Lithgow Small Arms Factory NSW. The handle looks like hardwood but seems to be a laminated composite?
Only thing missing is the canvas scabbard.
Great looking Machete!!
Yes, it's very robust and a thick blade
Good design & like the thick blade.
heck of a weed wacker fer sur ! !
G'day jearve: Fine looking Machete you have! The way the handle is attached, kinda looks like the hot poured rivet method, as the John EK commando knives had, is that correct? Very Nice blade design as well!
