Victorian mauve - pink Peloton glass basket with rope twist handle

Another specimen of this distinctive mauve - pink Peloton glass, this double cased basket has an applied clear peaked rigaree encircling the top rim, & a clear finely patterned rope twist handle, with raspberry prunts attached to each side of the handle where it joins the body of the basket. It also has an applied rigaree type footed base. Featuring Peloton threads in pink, blue, yellow, & white, it also has the ribbed pattern of the preceding items. The baskets measures 17 cm tall including the handle, 11 cm across the top rim, & 9.5 cm across the base, which has a rough snapped pontil mark. The raspberry prunts are quite interesting - with an extra circular pad under the raspberry - this type of prunt is pictured in detail in Gulliver's "Victorian Decorative Glass - British Designs".
