Thrift store find from today - since I already knew where to look, I checked the small ring and there it was, tiny writing, barely visible - it is not easy to read but it says CZECHOSLOVAKIA (I would not know had I not buy necklace with signature on similar place before... the signature is not that easy to spot).
The necklace is cca 57 cm long. It is from black faceted glass beads and fake pearls (some pearls are not in a good condition sadly).
What is interesting is the plastic stuff around the closure - is it original (as to help to make the necklace stronger), or does it come from unfortunate later repairs?
Hi Lentilka!
Pretty necklace! Perhaps black beads are faceted jet :-)
The plastic stuff at the ting is more likely some glue, put on to secure the knot and protecting the thread from rub... (non professional work!)
Not "ting"... ring! :-D
Thank you Kyra!
Do you have some method how to determine if its jet?
You may explore this link :-)

No I dont think its jet. Feels like black glass.
