Hi All, Am asking If anyone has any idea's in regards to my Trunk, as stated earlier my Grandfather brought this piece from Ireland in late 1800's to early 1900's, only info I have found is Erskine & Sons Belfast, Ireland, I do realize there were very few that actually were made in Ireland, that most Trunks were sold in England then brought back to the USA.
Any help would be better than no help at all.
    Kindest Regards, Diane

This trunk is pressed meatel with wooden staves that run from front to back, have checked out every site possible and seen a couple that are similar..yet not quite the same, was thinking Erskine & Sons, Belfast, Ireland..yet most of those were made flat on the top this one is Dome topped and has a Shamrock symbol on the main lock and also the wallpaper inside is Shamrocks.
If anyone has any idea..please let me know.

Early 1900s American made, cross slat, metal covered trunk. Exported overseas like thousands of others. The Shamrock means nothing, just a decoration.

Lindy: The 1900 Sears catalog has about 40 differant type of trunks with drawings, descriptions and prices. That is one of the best references I have come across. The original catalog is hard to come across but there is some reprints available at reasonable prices.I think I seen a dvd of the 1900 Sears catalog on eBay up for auction. You might also check your local library for the catalog .
