Found on Craigslist in Santa Barbara, CA in Feb. 2017 for $50, still in the care of a family who'd owned it for decades. It had a decal on it from Santa Barbara County Weights & Measures, certifying it for use in 1959.
All of the white painted parts had been brush painted in a cream color, and the base was a haze of rust. The chromed beam and polished aluminum height plate were in similarly poor condition, and the grooves on the rubber foot mat were packed with decades of tan dust.
It was disassembled, cleaned and repainted in it's original colors....and put right back into service.
