Rare Early Blenko Art Glass rope twist candle holders from the 1940’s. Hand-made in Black Amethyst. Bewitching color looks black until light shines through.
Very hard to find. Designed by Bill Blenko Sr. himself in the 1940’s. Bill Blenko was among the few first glass designers that launched the studio glass movement of the mid-20th century.
Hefty, solid hand-made glass. Each holder weighs 1 lb. Designed for beauty and function. Large 4½” wide domed foot stabilizes the holders. Flat 4? wide collar catches the dripping wax. Wide 1? candle cup accomodates multiple candle sizes. Stunning beauty attracts attention. The perfect candlesticks.
