We got this rough Champlin gas/oil sign while on our trip to Hershey PA last year and have been waiting since Oct to finally get it on a pole. The poles are getting harder to find than the actual signs it seems. We love the bright colors on this sign and think it fits in great with all the other Brands we display at the Free Lakeside Storage Museum in Provo Ut. Most of us out in the West never actually saw this brand of gas at a gas Station out our way. Herbert H Champlin actually started the Co in about 1916 in Enid Ok. and turned it in to a thriving buz in many States as far West as NM and Colo but never made it to Utah. Like other oil Companies, the smaller fish kept getting absorbed by the bigger fish until it totally disappeared in the 1970s after buyouts in the 50s, 60s and finally the last blow in the 70s. We got this in Iowa and figured it was worth the $350 we had to pay for it. It's rough and had to be touched up but looks great in the display
Pretty bad sand storm, Rattle.
Blunderbuss2,
Right on the sandstorm. It's "white sand" where we live and we've been shoveling snow off the roof all day. We have about 9' on the roof and it's scary just thinking about what that might weigh. One year I had a big clump slide off the roof on to my car and totaled it!
