This was part of my grandmothers estate.
It was said to be the CEO of Mellon Bank.
That's all I know really.
Any help to identify its worth would be helpful.

Lemco Desk, Chicago. Found a couple references to Lemco desks. You can find by searching for 40's Lemco desk. But, I fogot to include "Chicago" in my search! Also this auction ad which includes Lemco office equipment. I looked for 40's desk, but why don't you do a search for 50's Lemco desk Chicago. You might get better results than I did.

Its a beautiful desk.
It is definitely a beautiful desk. It's a "Clemco" Desk made by The Clemetson Co. Chicago. In the picture, the C is long outline character that goes under the "lemco" and left-hand part of the C is cut off. What is the top made of? Is it wood or granite? If it's OK to post this here, I would like to discuss....my cell is 860 796 3283
I also have a Clemko desk that I need information on. It has a pullout typewriter sliding desk area. It's on hinges and I can't get it to push back in. I don't think I'm doing it right. Anyone know how a spring-loaded stand operates? I do have photos of the desk and the hinges. Any help would be great. I couldn't find anything online.
I just purchased a Clemco desk today. It is a beauty!!
Swabubin-is it a "roll top" desk? If so...the desk top needs to be all the way open.
