Our ancestors were very clever inventors. Charles M. Lamb, of Adrian, Michigan created this unique gate latch while designing a latch for his fencing products. The bottom paragraph of the second photo explains his thought process. It is approximately 4" x 4 1/2" and made of cast iron.
Awarded second place for an Antique Item in the Hobby Collections Division at the State Fair of Texas in October 2018.
