I just purchased this chair from a store in Pensacola Florida. I was looking into restoring this before my son is born. I would like to get it as close to original as possible. It has steel springs but most are missing not sure what type of wood it is made of but it all appears to be solid. Mostly has wooden dowels but some screws are covered with wooden plugs. It appears someone has tried to reupholster the back. I have searched the internet for a few hours and haven't seen anything like it. I would hate to ruin a rare or one of a kind item. Could anyone please give me any information.
