I am referring to white frit on a colored ground when I use the term variegated - a simple technique that was likely used by many glass houses.
The pedestal or trophy vases with clear-cased white on yellow are a shape and decor that can be attributed to Welz. They stand 6 7/8" (17.5 cm) tall and are not marked. It's difficult to tell from the pictures - the enamelled pointillist flowers are a deep cobalt blue.
The vase between them is also a shape and decor that can be attributed to Franz Welz Klostergrab. It is clear-cased white on pastel blue and is marked with a two-line acid stamped "Made in Czechoslovakia" that is frequently seen on Welz products here in the USA. It stands 8" (20.3 cm) tall.
Again lovely vases, Harry, but I adore the blue one.
The blue example is wonderful!!
Thank you.
