egyptmachine
(1 item)
I've been trying to research this, so far I THINK its a 66k or a model 15-30
it throws me off because it has the egyptian motif on it, which right off the bat tells me its 20's. BUT it is electric and comes with plastic case. I bought it at a pawn shop so I have no idea it this is a repo or just the previous owner happened to have a case that fit this machine.
Also there is no serial number or model number on the machine
It is a Singer class 15 model because the tension assembly is on the end of the machine instead of on the front . The model 66 Singers have the tension assembly on the front of the machine . It also did not come in a plastic carrying case . Someone just put it into one . It is not a repro . It was made to have a wood cabinet or case . It could have even been a treadle machine at one time . It should have a serial number on it somewhere . Maybe just under the lip of the machine where it sits down into the case . If you really want to know about it go to this web site . It is free to join and people there are very helpful . < wefixit , shade tree macanics >
This will be an Asian made Singer - still a genuine Singer but not an old one. If it was an old one put into a plastic base it would have the serial number in front of the pillar. There will be a Serial Number under the lip of the machine if you tilt it back, it may be hard to see. It will most likely start with ML. The machine could be converted to a treadle if you found a cabinet for it.
