    Good day everyone,
Back in the early 1970's while driving to Mexico with a couple of friends we decided to check out the drive through trees along the California Highway. We were driving a 1958 ford 3/4 ton truck and to this day I haven't been able to find the photos taken that day. One day I came across about 20 black and white mini photos roughly 1 5/8" x 2 3/4" which brought back great memories of a long ago wild Mexican trip all the way from Canada with a stop in the Redwood forest tourist attraction. They were probably sold as a set in the gift shops and also were sold in post card size 3.5"x 5.5".
Pictured above are 3 photos of The Chandelier Tree Park. The 4th photo is from confusion hill an attraction along the way.

    History: WIKI

The Chandelier Tree in Drive-Thru Tree Park is 276-foot (84 m) tall coast redwood tree in Leggett, California with a 6-foot (1.8 m) wide by 6-foot-9-inch (2.06 m) high hole cut through its base to allow a car to drive through. Its base measures 16 ft (4.9 m) diameter at breast height (chest-high). The sign claims 315 ft. high and 21 ft. wide, but a Certified Arborist experienced with tallest redwoods, using a laser rangefinder, measured the tree as 276 ft. high and 16 ft. diameter. The name "Chandelier Tree" comes from its unique limbs that resemble a chandelier. The limbs, which measure from 4 to 7 ft (1.2 to 2.1 m) in diameter, begin 100 ft (30 m) above the ground. The tree is believed to have been carved in the early 1930s by Charlie Underwood.

    CONFUSION HILL

Confusion Hill is a roadside attraction in Piercy, California. The attraction, which opened in 1949, includes what is dubbed as a "gravity house," a structure built to give the interior visitors tilt-induced optical illusions, similar to the perspective on a gravity hill. Occupants experience the need to stand upright when they actually already are.

I'll have to visit the Redwoods sometime. Been a long time since I have seen them.

Have seen some photos with cars driving through, and this looks familiar. Love the leaning guy and when viewing that there seems to be a lot of alcohol involved :)

Most of the photos I saw online are usually the same or similar cars Phil as these minis I have are pretty common I guess.

Very cool! I heard that that tree no longer exists? One of my sisters is going to the giant redwoods this June. She is driving. She wants me to go, but I cannot take a month of of work.

      Hi iggy,
I think that the Chandelier tree is still standing. The Pioneer Cabin tree has fallen! This iconic and still living tree - the tunnel tree - enchanted many visitors. The storm was just too much for it. This weekend, Jan. 7 or 8, 2017 amidst a torrent of rain, one of California’s most iconic sequoia trees fell and shattered. Pioneer Cabin Tree was likely over a thousand years old. Exerts from the internet.
There are still others remaining for your sister to see on her holiday and maybe you will be able to go with her:)
