Hi, I just bought this clock at a rummage sale for $22.50 (wow! )I believe this to be an ebonised (Austria Vienna 8 day (not 30 day ?)regulator weight driven only time no chime clock (one key hole one weight )I was told it had been painted and the top Fineal was added but I think it was originally black also I think the top fienal may not be original to this clock but look good. I don't know if this clock works because the hook that attaches to the pendulum rod is missing so I can't attach this hook to the suspension spring but I believe everything else is there other then a peace of wood missing from the frame on the bottom of the door I took a picture of the movement although the picture is upside down (sorry)the movement appears to be in good condition (clean) as well as the string that holds the weight appears to be good and winds and very clean (bright white ) when I put the key crank in the key crank hole it turn and winds up the string.I seen no marks or makers names on this movement but the front dial reads A. (Anton ? ) Schlesinger Wein? I Don't know if Anton Schlesingers last name is Wein? looks like someone at one point wrote this on the clock dial I don't think this is the correct maker as this clock maker appears to make only Cuckoo Clock's (I may Be wrong) also not sure if this is the correct movement for this case as it could be 30 day but the case is only 30"inch tall by 9" inch wide and 3.5" inch depth I believe this case is to small to be 30 day as most 30day cases like this are Usually over 3 feet tall. I would love to know more about this regulator clock like when it may have been made and where and what it may be valued at I'm guessing late 1800's ? Thank for reading.
